went for morning prayer with the CampusRevo team this morning and it was indeed another awesome session together with our Lord Jesus Christ! our God is a prayer answering God and prayer does moves the hands of God and miracles always take place! Darren shared of the topic called "wisdom" and on how we needed God's wisdom in us to actually have a wonderful and fruitful 2010. he printed a note for us and I decided to share it to all of you. :D *read below*

"What sort of New Year's Resolution should a Christian make?"

The practice of making New Year’s resolutions goes back over 3000 years to the ancient Babylonians. There is just something about the start of a New Year that gives us the feeling of a fresh start and a new beginning. In reality, there is no difference between December 31st and January 1st. Nothing mystical occurs at midnight on December 31st. The Bible does not speak for or against the concept of New Year’s resolutions. However, if a Christian determines to make a New Year’s resolution, what kind of resolution should he or she make?

Common New Year’s resolutions are: to quit smoking, to stop drinking, to manage money better, and spend more time with family. By far the most common New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, in conjunction with exercising more and eating healthier. These are all good goals to set. However, 1 Timothy 4:8 instructs us to keep exercise in perspective: “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” The vast majority of New Year’s resolutions, even among Christians, are in relation to physical things. This should not be.

Many Christians make New Year’s resolutions to pray more, to read the Bible every day, and to attend church more regularly. These are fantastic goals. However, these New Year’s resolutions fail just as often as the non-spiritual resolutions, because there is no power in a New Year’s resolution.

Resolving to start or stop doing a certain activity has no value unless you have the proper motivation for stopping or starting that activity.

For example, why do you want to read the Bible every day? Is it to honor God and grow spiritually, or is it because you have just heard that it is a good thing to do? Why do you want to lose weight? Is it to honor God with your body, or is it for vanity, to honor yourself?

Philippians 4:13 tells us, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” John 15:5 declares, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

If God is the center of your New Year’s resolution, it has chance for success, depending on your commitment to it.

If it is God’s will for something to be fulfilled, He will enable you to fulfill it. If a resolution is not God honoring and/or is not in agreement in God’s Word, we will not receive God’s help in fulfilling the resolution.

So, what sort of New Year’s resolution should a Christian make? Here are some suggestions:

1. Pray to the Lord for wisdom (James 1:5) in regards to what resolutions, if any, He would have you make;
2. Pray for wisdom as to how to fulfill the goals God gives you;
3. Rely on God’s strength to help you;
4. Find an accountability partner who will help you and encourage you;
5. Don’t become discouraged with occasional failures; instead allow them to motivate you further;
6. Don’t become proud or vain, but give God the glory. Psalm 37:5-6, “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

holidays are just filled with joy especially in the season of Christmas!

whoa! I realize how long I haven't been updating my blog. I still wonder if anyone still visits my page now. should I abandon my blog forever? been running out of idea what I should update.

month of December's already here! so many events and I'm just so excited about it! but first, I've gotta finish off my final exam which is just next week. there's so many things going on in my mind right now be it Christmas presentation, visitation to the old folks' home & KDU for the cancer patients, performances at Queensbay Mall and Time Square, Christmas dinner, caroling with the SSK and thanksgiving night with the Ignite-Youth! truly a season to be jolly!

so, things have been really good so far especially IGNITE-Youth Camp which I have just attended but best event of the year is still yet to come, Christmas! everyone's waiting for it but do anyone knows the true meaning of Christmas? why do we even celebrate it? if Jesus wasn't born on that very day, I don't think the world would be celebrating this special event. Santa Clause & presents? nahh, it's not because of those why we celebrate it. it's about JESUS!

I just want to encourage all of you (those who are actually still reading my blog) to come for this special Christmas event presented by Penang First Assembly of God. there will be performances like drama, dances, choir, mini-concert & etc. hey, what's the waste right? it's FREE anyway! so get yourself free on one of those nights and be bless! I can assure you that you'll enjoy it.

I know lately a lot of you have been wondering whether the world is coming to an end this coming year 2012 right? don't be deceive! this is all mere humans' prediction. if humans can predict, they are no different compared to God. for He is the one that created us and the whole universe. so how can anyone tell when is the right time and the right year that the world is coming to an end?

here, go on and read "Matthew 24" from what the Bible has to say. it won't take long to just read a few paragraphs. furthermore, what's the waste of just reading it right? :) I know a lot of you might have watch this but still there's something that impress my heart that I should share to you this video again.. have a look.

time to update my died blog! first of all, life's been really great these days and I could hardly catch a breath! been caught up with church activities, dance prac, college "Change Your World" program, haircut, movie, shop for shoes, etc etc. whoa! that's the reason why I couldn't update my blog. but above all, God is still awesome and HE is still always in control!

I think this year is the most power-pack year end ever! although we only have 2 days of Christmas presentation, but we have other events in other places too! I believe all these are the opening of doors from God. :) having our Ignite-Youth camp on the 25-27th of Nov, Change Your World pre-concert on the 16th of Nov in KDU, Change Your World quest on the 17th of Nov, Change Your World concert on the 22nd of Nov in Dewan Sri, & Old Folks' Home visit, KDU mini-concert from our youth, performances at Time Square, Queensbay and Christmas Presentation, Christmas Dinner, Watch-Night service all in the month of December! probably there are more but that's just about it at the moment.


just bought my shoes yesterday and I'm happy with it! thank God there's still discount which fit my budget! hopefully it won't turn yellowish anytime. :D next would be Christmas shopping! it's a time of giving and a time of receiving. most importantly is we're celebrating Jesus' birthday. He'll always be the reason for the season!

hello! I'm just here for the sake of updating my blog so that it won't be died like it used to. you know, sometimes I wonder what are blogs for nowadays. people have been keeping up updates with others through Facebook and Twitter! they could just tweet or update a status from anytime in anywhere in the world and there you are, knowing what others are currently up to. technology huh?

I realize the month is coming to an end and November is coming! I believe God has a greater plan for this month and surely it's going to be a fruitful one! really glad that KDU CF is getting involve with the 1am Band that started the "Change Your World" mission and they're going to have a concert in Dewan Sri on 22nd of Nov! and of course, I'll be helping up to promote this event during the month and there's a bunch of students are going to throw a concert at KDU itself to boost up the event!
